Potential recording of personal data from the vehicle environment

Information on the processing of personal data during test drives for the development of advanced driver assistance systems and novel human-machine interaction systems in the context of automated driving

As part of our measurement drives in public areas, the complete vehicle environment is recorded with imaging techniques (including persons).

If you have been recorded by one of our systems, you have the opportunity to notify us in order to receive information about the processing of your personal data.

For the realization of sophisticated driver assistance functions, among other things, extensive testing and validation operations are necessary. This is partly carried out on public roads, which is why such a vehicle may cross your path at some point.

According to § 34 BDSG/Art. 15 EU DSGVO, you as a data subject have the right to request confirmation from us as to whether personal data concerning you are being processed.

According to § 34 VI BDSG/Art. 15 III EU DSGVO, you have the right to have your request answered in text form. Therefore, we ask you to provide us with the following additional information about yourself.

To enable us to identify you beyond doubt and thus to protect the rights of other persons, please fill out the following contact form.

Data processing via social networks

The KARLI consortium operates publicly available profiles on social networks, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

These social networks are able to analyze in depth user behavior when visiting their websites.

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can associate this visit with your user account. Under certain circumstances, however, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In these cases, your data may be collected through cookies that are stored on your terminal device or through the collection of your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of social media portals can create user profiles that contain your preferences and interests. This also enables them to show you advertising based on your interests within and outside the respective social media platform. If you have an account with the relevant social network, it is possible to show you advertisements related to your interests on all devices on which you are or were logged into your account.

Please also note that we are not able to track all processing operations on social media portals. Therefore, depending on the provider, the operators of social media portals may carry out further processing operations. For further details, please refer to the terms of use and the privacy notices of the respective social media portals.

We have no influence on the storage period of the data that the operators of the social networks store for their own purposes. You can find specific information on this directly from the operators of the social networks.
